UTAH FOUNDATION FOR BLIND SPONSORS NATIONAL GOALBALL TOURNAMENT--LIONS HELP
The state tournament was on March 31 and the National Championships were in
June at American Fork High School.
Kids from all over the country came to compete in the contests. Several
Lions helped during the events.
Goalball is a sport especially for the blind. Similar to hockey, the object
is to not allow the ball to get into the goal. The large ball creates a
sound when it is rolled across the floor and blind kids can hear that and
block it. It is quite interesting to watch.
Utah Goalball athletes have done well in the competition.
The Utah Foundation for the Blind also sponsored a Blind camp this year.
One picture shows the ball being served and the other shows the players
blocking the ball as it comes toward them.
